Composer's Note

Giri Toscani is a remembrance of a sensation.  A sensation of perfect isolation and rustic purity that I experienced whilst passing through small Tuscan hilltop towns on bicycle trips with my father-in-law, Mario, to whom the piece is dedicated.  These towns are a set of variations like this piece; each similar but all different.
