Composer's Note

​

Orb Processions was commissioned by the dynamic, young trombone quintet Aeris Brass.  The piece seeks to explore the (oft-unappreciated) versatility of the trombone, juxtaposing calm and expansive chorales with dance-like and virtuosic episodes.
